Today, I wanted to share a couple of summer mocktail recipes that I have been enjoying lately. Each of these can easily be made into a cocktail. Two of these are my recipes and the rest are gems I found online. (All photos are my own 🙂 )
With 4th of July tomorrow and Labor Day weekend around the corner, your schedule is sure to be full of fun gatherings. One thing I have noticed when it comes to social events is the amount of fear around food. This is a direct result of the mentality that diet culture has created. We have been taught for decades not to “screw up our diets” and “undo all of our hard work.” All of this chatter is actually what often causes you to want to eat more. Instead, if you honor your hunger and fullness and pay attention to the foods and drinks that sound satisfying to you, that takes a whole lot of stress away from the occasion. Family events can already be pretty stressful for most people–why add anxiety about food to the equation?!
Mango Kombucha Refresher

This drink is a thirst quenching blend of my favorite kombucha flavor–Mystic Mango. If you’ve never had kombucha before, it is a fermented drink that contains probiotics that promote healthy gut bacteria. The recipe also includes La Croix sparkling water which is one of my favorite drinks to stay hydrated in the summer. (This might be my favorite summer mocktail of the bunch!)

You can easily make this into an adult beverage with a splash of Bacardi Limon. Yum!

Patriotic Fruit Spritzer

This is a fun drink that you can easily get kids involved with. But it’s also versatile enough that you can transform it into a patriotic “adult” beverage. Instead of adding the liquor in with the other liquids, you could also soak some of your berries in the vodka. Get creative! (Just don’t mix your drink up with the kids’!!)

Mint Mojito

Slushy Fruity Blender Punch

Watermelon Slush

Let me know if you give any of these drinks a try! Have a fun and safe Independence Day!
